As I was growing up in the 60s and 70s, I loved Thanksgiving. I remember playing in the “Turkey Bowl” at South Lake Elementary School. Every year the 6th grade always beat the 5th grade in flag football.
I remember family gatherings with my grandparents, aunts, and uncles, and cousins. And while those days are long gone, the memories live on. So, yes, thanksgiving brings a lot of joy to me. I just remember Thanksgiving as a special time. As a Christian, Thanksgiving takes on another meaning. It is a time to thank God for all His blessings. And no matter what you are going through today, you have reason to be thankful. God, the creator of the universe, loves you and cares for you. He sent Jesus Christ to pay for our sins and make us fit for heaven. Once you trust in Christ by faith, you are saved, and nothing can change your position! So, when you are sitting around your table this Thanksgiving, be sure to thank Him! We are blessed!
In Christ,
Dr. Michael J. Frazier
